Where is the Best places to get your Save-The-Dates or Invitations?

Many couples struggle with finding great places to make and print out both save-the-dates and wedding invitations. I remember years ago when I got married, I had to go to the local store, buy generic wedding invitations, print them out and put them together.

Well, a lot has changed in the last 15 some odd years and today, there are plenty of places online that will design and ship them right to your doorstep.

Carole and I are going to share with you the places that we've found and worked with over the years that provides some of the best around and the pricing isn’t that bad either.

Get them Online

You can get all your wedding printed needs at either UPrinting.com, Zazzle.com or VistaPrint.com, both are online print-shops that have a wide variety of templates to choose from and they both allow you to create them from scratch too.

While there are other online places, these two are by far the better of the group and they also offer a better selection of templates to choose from too.

UPrinting

UPrinting offers some elevated wedding invitations and save-the-date options and while they are not as cheap as a place like Vistaprint, we think they have better quality work and their customer service tends to be a little bit better too.

This is our first choice when seeking to create these printed items.

One of the cool tings we love about them is that they have an online design builder (Vista Print does too) and you can literally take a template and build it out to create exactly what you want within a few minutes.

VistaPrint

We really like Vista print and their selection of save-the-dates and wedding invitations.

They offer them in a wide variety of styles including a kitchen fridge magnet which seems to be very popular-as well as more traditional card stock.

When we looked online at their pricing, you can get them for as low as $.84 each although we highly suggest that you look for a coupon code by Googling them as they are always running great specials on things.

Zazzle

Zazzle is another company that we recommend for purchasing your save-the-dates and invites especially if you’re looking for the best selection of magnetic ones. Zazzle is more expensive the the others but like the other two they offer fast shipping and you can usually find an online coupon code to help with the overall costs.

Amazon

You can also get them directly from Amazon and you’ll find a bunch of generic kits that you can run through your own printer too. These are usually the cheapest route because you basically build them yourselves which is perfect for the DIY couple getting married.

If you want so save the most amount of money, do everything online via the internet. There are plenty of ways to do them, through normal email, through websites that do them for you for a very small fee and even creating a Facebook page and connecting friends and family to them and getting an RSVP that way (it’s FREE).

Get them in a Store

You can also head to your local Staples or Office Max to get them printed in their store fronts. We’ve heard mixed reviews about these places, some couples have loved it, others have been giving the run around with having to buy the paper from the store, then bring it back only to find out their printers wouldn’t print on the paper couples were told to purchase.

Our recommendation is to stick with stock that they have behind the counter so you know that they’ll be able to print it and you won’t be stuck with bundles of unused paper that you can’t do anything with.

You can also look for a local print shop in your area. These are mainly mom-n-pop operations that do great work especially if you’re looking for something custom or never been designed before STD’s and invitations.

A Reminder about the Added Costs

Average Cost Based on 100 guests

Average cost is $497 per wedding

For every 100 save-the-dates or invites you ship out, your going to $55 although you can save a few dollars if you use Stamps.com, using that company, the cost of a stamp is just $.50 not $.55.

And actually, you’re going to double that cost because you will send out those save-the-dates then you’ll send out the wedding invitations a few months later.

In all, you can expect to spend about an added $100 in stamp costs alone. You also need stamps for the return RSVP’s too just a reminder.
