Coronavirus and Elopements, how they’ve taken place
Over the last couple of months, Carole and I have been busy with many couples in the region, some that are our clients and some that are not. Helping them the best way we can, being behind the camera lens and capturing their elopement, wedding ceremony with less than 10 people here in Virginia.
Carole and I have covered a few weddings completely for FREE, with live streaming, wedding photography and ceremony video too.
It’s times like these that what matter the most is being apart of couples getting married and being able to share their joy through the lens of a camera. Carole and I have taken this opportunity, not to make money and not to too our own horns other than to say thank you for letting us be apart of your day.
Rebekah and Isaac are a great couple.
They were supposed to get married at The Woodland Place but couldn’t because coronavirus shut the venue down by the governors’ orders. They finally set on the getting married at Mill Mountain Star.
Well, that didn’t turn out either as the city shutdown Mill Mountain Star and all other city parks. Within 24 hours of getting married they found Garst Mill Park and that’s where the ceremony took place with me filming the ceremony, Carole doing the wedding photos and of course the live stream.
With just a handful of friends and family, they had a wonderful sunset wedding ceremony.
There was laughter and tears, lots of smiles from the couple including those special moments only they got to celebrate with each other.
Delnice and Tony were planning to get married May 9th but like all the other couples out there, they were hindered by coronoavirus. They were supposed to be my 500th wedding couple over my career, but they didn’t happen.
Carole and I did get to create their “How We Met” video and their engagement session however and we had a lot of fun spending time with them during this unprecedented time.
While they were supposed to be married in early May this year, they pushed back the wedding until 2021 and plan to have an over-the-top celebration with friends and family!
Finally, Kristen & Dustin, a couple that also got hit with the lockdown of the coronavirus here in Virginia. Instead of having the full wedding, they choose to have the ceremony on their wedding day with just a few select family members and push back the celebration later into 2020.
This fun loving couple was so great to work with and understanding about everything. Carole and I had a fun time with them at a nearby apple farm in Troutville.
While our part of the world has been on a lock down of sorts, weddings are still taking shape, some are postponing for later, others are having ceremonies now.
“One of the joys about being in the industry is that Carole and I get to partake in being apart of these couples lives and they entrust us with being able to document their special day and be apart of their lives.” - Joshua
Weddings should hopefully open up sometime soon and we should all be back on track with slowly getting back to normal in the world. Love certainly won’t stand still for a pandemic nor should it.
