Couples often think about their wedding and wonder if they will make a mistake or the wedding will be a fail, basically a disaster.

Sometimes it’s a small thing that only a few notice, other times it’s something major that all the guests chat about all night long.

Today, I want to chat a little bit about why weddings fail and how you can prevent them from happening in the first place.

First, Let’s Chat About Small Things

Honestly, every single wedding I’ve ever attended in my 23 years has had an issue.

Now, most of the 567 weddings I’ve worked thus far have had something small go wrong, usually, it’s a flower girl not walking down the aisle all the way, maybe the wedding dress gets a snag while putting it on or maybe the catering company ran out of ranch dressing.

But these are small things and I want you to try and overlook them.

Wedding fails tend to be mostly human in nature and it’s going to be extremely hard to have a perfect wedding day with tons of vendors and guests.

So, don’t sweat the small stuff, in fact, just let it go.

In the case of these small snafu’s laugh it off and keep going.

So, What Are Major Wedding Fails?

These are going to be pretty clear for the couple getting married.

I want you to think of things like someone forgetting to bring the wedding rings to a vendor not showing up to perform a service.

So how can you avoid things like these?

First, hire true professionals for your wedding day, and don’t skimp on them. Hiring low-budget vendors might save you money, but there is a reason why they are cheaper and it boils down to a few reasons.

Lack of experience; they simply don’t know how to handle situations
Building their portfolio/brand
They will have limited expertise within their part of the wedding industry

Now, there is nothing wrong with hiring a new business, but you should note that if the person/people that you hire have little experience with weddings if something does happen, it’ll be hard to correct or hide the issue if something does pop up.

I highly recommend that you hire a wedding planner, someone that can help guide you through the process of putting the wedding day together.

While many couples will try to do it themselves, having a planner, sometimes called a wedding manager, will help you navigate everything from hiring experienced wedding vendors to helping prevent major issues that could happen.

According to theKnot, roughly 27% of couples will hire a wedding/event planner.

Also, Have a Backup Plan

One thing that I recommend is having backup plans.

That means if you are having the ceremony outdoors, make sure you have an alternative plan should there be rain.

It doesn’t stop there, however.

Having backups for everything you can think of will make a world of difference.

Bring your own makeup in case the make-up artist forgot the lipstick that you choose, also put one of your close friends in charge of keeping the rings, or even have a plan in place in case one of your bridesmaids fails to show (yes, that happens at times).

The more you can be prepared for the day, the better your day will be.
